Who did Jesus say he was? With the Samaritan woman at the well, Jesus said that he was the Messiah and was replacing temple worship as the way to God. To the crowd he said he was the bread of life and that he was divine. However, both of these claims, to an intermediary ministry and to being divine, were violently challenged.
