The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in Poland was honoured with an award for their GiveAndGetHelp app. Karolina Wójcik-Kozłowska, ADRA Poland Country Director, accepted the award at the Health Challenges Congress in Katowice, Poland, held on the 7th of March. ADRA Poland secured first place in the esteemed Start-Up-Med 2024 competition due to the app’s distinction as the largest help-seeking digital community in Poland, offering free psychological support to individuals navigating challenging life circumstances while ensuring complete anonymity.

“We designed this app to serve as a safe place for individuals who are not yet ready for traditional support group meetings, as well as for those who, due to various reasons, are unable or simply prefer not to participate in such gatherings,” explained Jakub Juszczyk, the app’s founder.

The primary objective of the Start-Up-Med competition is to identify and reward startups that develop the most creative and innovative products or processes for patients or healthcare. ADRA Poland’s platform, thanks to the votes of internet users, was recognised as the most creative solution in addressing health issues, particularly in the realm of psychological support.

GiveAndGetHelp.com operates in Polish and Ukrainian languages, is completely free of charge, and incorporates artificial intelligence to ensure 24/7 assistance. According to the developers, the best resource that the app offers is human, by bringing people together and offering the possibility of helping others once they recover from their own challenge or crisis.
