Reidar Kvinge leaves Norwegian Union Presidency for evangelism

<p>15 March 2017 |&nbsp;Røyse,&nbsp;Norway [Tor Tjeransen]&nbsp; Pastor Reidar J Kvinge announced today that he is resigning as president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Norway. However, there is nothing dramatic in the reason for pastor Kvinge’s resignation even though his decision to resign came as a total surprise to most employees of the union.</p>

15 March 2017 | Røyse, Norway [Tor Tjeransen]  Pastor Reidar J Kvinge announced today that he is resigning as president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Norway. However, there is nothing dramatic in the reason for pastor Kvinge’s resignation even though his decision to resign came as a total surprise to most employees of the union.

Reidar Kvinge“I have felt an ever increasing desire to be directly involved in evangelistic work. That is the reason why I am taking this step now,” said Kvinge.

Kvinge informed the Trans-European Division President, Pastor Raafat Kamal, of his decision on Wednesday morning, 15 March. In his response, Pastor Kamal thanked Kvinge for his committed leadership of the Union, especially commending him for his positive attitude. Kamal stated, “I can only respect your will and wish you and Lynn all the best in your future plans, especially your desire to focus on evangelism.

Reidar Kvinge baptisingKvinge will continue to serve as president until the Union Executive Committee can meet to elect a new president. “I would like to thank the members of the church in Norway for the confidence they have placed in me these past seven years during my time at the helm of the union,” Kvinge said in a written statement to the board and employees of the union.  [tedNEWS]
