Adventists from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania explored theological questions at an International Bible Conference in Riga, Latvia, from 12 to 15 September 2026. The Biblical Research Institute (BRI) held the Conference with scholars from Andrews University and the Ellen G. White Estate.
Church elders and members were invited to attend the first two days, while pastors from all three countries attended the final two days. The Conference took place at two venues in Riga, Latvia: the Baltic Union Conference (BAUC) headquarters and Riga Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Presentations covered the Trinity, last generation theology, biblical interpretation, the significance of the resurrection in Adventist theology, and the use of AI and modern technology. Speakers also addressed Ellen G. White’s understanding of God and responses to critics of her writings.
Between presentations, BRI members met pastors in small groups. Their discussions included challenges in ministry, Ellen White’s authority, prophetic interpretation and difficult Bible passages. The BRI also gave every pastor in attendance a copy of the Handbook of Seventh-day Adventist Theology.
The Conference gave church members, elders and pastors from across the three countries an opportunity to examine questions of faith together.
