This summer, the city of Sarajevo will welcome a unique international event that blends humanitarian action, community spirit, fun, and personal growth. “Invasion of Love”, a youth-focused initiative that takes place in a different city in Bosnia and Herzegovina each year, is coming to Sarajevo from 28 July to 3 August 2025.
The event brings together young people from across Europe and beyond with one mission: to spread love through practical acts of kindness. Founded on the idea that small, everyday gestures can have a powerful impact, “Invasion of Love” is built on the values of service, compassion and connection.
Throughout the week, participants will carry out a variety of community outreach activities, including:
• Free car wash
• Distributing cold drinks on the streets during the summer heat
• Assisting elderly residents with garden work and house cleaning
• Delivering food and groceries to families in need
• Visiting individuals facing hardship, offering encouragement and support
• Creating moments of joy in public spaces through games, photography, flash mobs and creative expression
These activities are designed not only to meet the practical needs of local residents, but also to create personal, heart-to-heart encounters that foster dignity, hope, and human connection. “More than just a service project, ‘Invasion of Love’ is also an opportunity for personal and spiritual growth,” commented the organisers. Participants will explore Sarajevo’s rich history and culture, form meaningful friendships with peers from different countries, and reflect on the values of empathy, purpose, and faith in action.
“It’s not just about helping others — it’s about discovering what it means to live with intention,” said the organisers. “Every participant leaves changed. There’s something transformative about serving together, stepping outside your comfort zone, and seeing what love looks like in practice.”
The event is open to young adults aged 16 to 30 who are looking to spend their summer in a meaningful, life-enriching way. It offers an inclusive and welcoming space, regardless of background or previous experience. The registration fee is €130, which includes accommodation, meals and activities.
“Whether you’re passionate about helping others, eager to meet like-minded people from across Europe, or simply looking to step out of your comfort zone and grow in a meaningful way, this is your opportunity,” the organisers added. “Come and experience what happens when ordinary people come together to do extraordinary things — not for recognition, but out of genuine care.”
