Faith, Science, and Lifestyle Explored at the Christian Science Youth Conference

More than 400 attendees gathered for the Christian Science Youth Conference in Szeged, Hungary. Organised by the Youth Ministries and Health Ministries departments of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hungary, the event aimed to spark engaging conversations among young believers on faith, science, and adopting a healthy lifestyle.

Experienced speakers and young professionals took the stage at the Department of Education and Information Centre of the University of Szeged, delving into topics that explored the interplay between faith and science under the theme “healthy faith, science, and lifestyle.” Alongside the plenary sessions, vibrant panel discussions encouraged active participation from the youth, fostering an atmosphere of free exchange. Evenings provided valuable opportunities for networking and camaraderie.

“If you want a healthy faith, ask questions,” said president Daniel Duda.

During his Sabbath morning presentation, Daniel Duda, president of the Trans-European Division (TED), stressed, “If you want a healthy faith, ask questions.” Reflecting on the conference, he expressed his pride in the Hungarian Union and the organisers for bringing together such a gathering. “On behalf of the TED, I would like to extend my thanks. I am very grateful to the event organisers, as this marks the third consecutive year that scientifically minded young people from the church have been able to gather.”

The event took place from 9 – 11 February at the József Attila Department of Education and Information Centre of the University of Szeged.

“Thanks to Tamás Ócsai, Union President, Dr Renáta Zolyomi, Union Treasurer, and Dr Tibor Tonhaizer, Rector of the Adventist Theological College, for supporting this event with their presence,” said Kristóf Palotás, Hungarian Union Youth director.
