What is the essence of the Christmas message? For Raafat Kamal the verse that comes to mind is ‘Glory to God in highest, and on earth peace, good will to all men.’ [Luke 2:14]
During his year-end video address, Kamal notes how ‘peace on earth, good will to all women and men, can be illustrated in the positive actions of Trans-European Division staff who chose to collect gifts for a local refuge centre during their festive Christmas meal.
That is the spirt that he loves in the office – and in so many places that we have been able to serve and observe in the past year. It can even be seen in the Christmas video as staff share their diverse favourite seasonal foods and activities.

It is a message that is also summed up by the December meme posted by the Women’s Ministries department. Quoting Dr Steve Marshall, they write, “Want to keep Christ in Christmas? Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, forgive the guilty, welcome the unwanted, care for the ill, love your enemies, and do unto others as you would have done to you.”
As we share our Christmas greetings with you, we also share the above challenge for the New Year as we continue to strive, together with you, to Make God Known in Europe.
With warmest greetings from the Officers, Directors and staff of the Trans-European Division.
