TED Elects Directors and Associates for New Quinquennium

On Thursday afternoon, 10 July, the Trans-European Division (TED) Caucus to the 62nd General Conference Session voted to approve the TED Nominating Committee’s recommendation to appoint the following directors and associates to serve for the 2025–2030 quinquennium:

Field Secretary, Public Affairs and Religious Liberty, & Publishing

Ian Sweeney (incumbent)

Associate Treasurer 

Candy Layson (incumbent)

Associate Secretary

Dean Papaioannou (incumbent)

Youth and Public Campus Ministries 

Marcel Ghioalda (incumbent)

Teens, Adventurers & Pathfinders Associate 

Kevin Johns (incumbent)

Adventist Mission & Women’s Ministries
Sylvia Mendez Sylvia

Pastor Sylvia Mendez, who most recently served as Women’s Ministries Director for the Australian Union Conference in the South Pacific Division, brings experience in church planting and Women’s Ministries. She holds a BA in Ministry and Theology and is currently completing an MBA at Avondale University.

Joseph Phillpott

Joe Philpot

Pastor Joseph Phillpott recently served as the Communication and Media Director for the North England Conference. From 2017 to 2022, he served as a pastor in the Midlands, United Kingdom. He has a keen interest in sharing the Gospel through social media and has experience in marketing. Phillpott holds a BA in Theology and an MA in Biblical and Pastoral Studies.
