There are some Bible texts that sound nice but are hard to apply in the middle of a pandemic. Here is one of them: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. [Philippians 4:6 NIV]

Anxiety is something that currently surrounds us. Is it safe to go out? How are my friends and family? How much longer can I cope with working from home, schooling my kids, and trying to balance a reduced income? And that is before I switch on the news, or have to face my colleagues in yet another zoom conference.

#dearcoronavirus 10 tackles this head-on with a message of hope, highlighting needs, sometimes in a humorous way, but offering suggestions as well.

A Swiss jogger notes how exercise helps. A Kenyan shares how music soothes him, while a grandparent in Sweden confesses that reading the Bible brings hope.

We also see a family packing a food basket for a needy neighbour, playing together and, yes, praying together. Perhaps this video clip explains, in very practical terms, what the apostle Paul means. Anxiety may be around us – but with God on our side, we are not alone. We can cope. We can hope. We can share.
