Pastor Daniel Ebenezer, former Personal Ministries and Evangelism Director of the North England Conference, UK, has been appointed Director of the Sabbath School and Personal Ministries departments at the Seventh-day Adventist Church world headquarters. The decision was made during the 2025 Annual Council of the General Conference Executive Committee. Ebenezer previously served as Associate Director of the department from October 2023.
Church leaders acknowledged his experience in disciple-making and member empowerment in appointing him to the new role. His ministry experience includes work in India and the United Kingdom, particularly in personal evangelism and church planting.
“I rejoice about the election of Daniel Ebenezer as the GC Sabbath School and Personal Ministries director,” said Dr Daniel Duda, President of the Trans-European Division (TED). “He did a splendid work as a local church pastor and departmental director in the North England Conference. We worked together at the TED Mission Board. We wish him God’s richest blessings on his new assignment, so that the whole world field is blessed.”
Originally from India, Ebenezer’s journey into ministry began at age 14 when he encountered the Adventist message through the influence of Ralph Roberts, a Bible instructor at the Adventist school in Chennai. In his own words, that early experience revealed to him “the power of personal labour in soul-winning.”
He studied theology at Spicer Memorial College after completing a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and was actively involved in church planting efforts in major Indian cities such as Pune and Mumbai. Following his graduate studies in education, he served as a Bible instructor at a mission school in South India.
In 2003, Ebenezer relocated to Manchester, England, with his family. He joined the North England Conference in 2008 and served in multiple roles, including Bible worker, district pastor, area coordinator and eventually as Director for Personal Ministries and Evangelism. He also served on the TED Mission Board, contributing to strategic planning and mission development across the division.
“My three main ministry objectives are nurturing, equipping and empowering individual members for Christian leadership and disciple-making,” Ebenezer said. “I believe that while various methods are valuable, personal labour by dedicated believers remains the most effective means of outreach.” His stated focus on member equipping aligns with the department’s global mission to support local church outreach.
He is married to Ellen, who has been a constant support throughout his ministry, and together they have three sons: Jacob, Nathan and Joseph.
