Six young literature evangelists from Brazil embarked on the adventure of a lifetime in September 2024. Arthur de Mello Lopes, Gustavo Mendonça, Bruna Leite Carvalho, Walisson De Oliveira Lopes, Talita Cruz, and Ronaldo Nascimento began their journey by spending three months in Portugal and Spain, selling Adventist literature door to door. After completing this initial phase, four of them—Arthur, Gustavo, Bruna, and Ronaldo—continued their mission in Albania, dedicating another three months to sharing the Gospel through literature evangelism.

“One of the most significant lessons learned,” reflected Pastor Marcelo Frazao, Publishing Director for Portugal and Spain, “was recognising the fundamental role that young people play in spreading the Gospel.” Frazao expressed how deeply impressed he was by their unity, love, and commitment to the mission. “These four young missionaries left behind their university studies, families, and personal comforts to fully embrace their calling,” he said.

This mission adventure was made possible through the support of the Adventist Central-West Church in Brazil, which financially sponsored the students through the I Believe in the Mission project.

“This initiative reinforces the GLOCAL mission concept—both local and global,” said Frazao, highlighting the collaborative effort between the Portuguese and Spanish Unions, as well as the Portuguese Publishing House (SERVIR) and the Spanish Publishing House (SAFELIZ), which warmly welcomed and supported the young evangelists.

As part of this effort, SAFELIZ produced a customised magazine specifically for distribution in Albania, enhancing the reach of their literature ministry. “All these efforts confirm that the Seventh-day Adventist Church remains steadfast in the purpose of our pioneers—investing resources and sending its best workers to preach the Gospel,” Frazao reflected.

The young colporteurs remain in Albania, actively involved in follow-up activities, visiting people in their businesses, sharing the message in the streets, and engaging in various religious settings, further expanding the impact of this initiative.
