Finding Meaningful Ways to Connect Religious Media With a Post-Church Society

TED & EUD January Communication Seminar

Communication, Media and Technology February 6, 2023

06 February 2023 | St. Albans, UK [David Neal]

On Tuesday 31 January the Trans-European Division and Inter-European Division co-hosted the first of ten webinars taking place in 2023, to train and inspire Adventist communicators across Europe.

In this first seminar Gabriel Begle, Digital Platforms Director for Adventist Review, explained the mindset of secular post- church European society and how Christian communicators can find ways to connect.

While Begle recognised the need to have a strategy to understand the audience – using demographic data, observing trends and mores of various people groups – he believes that, ultimately, there is a deeply spiritual solution to the problem of connecting with a post-church society, which is far more personal than many would like.

His seminar consisted of three parts:

  1. The problem
  2. The Commission
  3. Potential Solutions

The PowerPoint presentation can be found here.

The European Communication Webinars take place the last Tuesday of the month, at 6:00 pm London time (7.00 pm Bern). Topics vary from developing content strategy to avoiding burnout, and are intended for all communication directors and professionals working for the church, as well as enthusiasts and digital influencers. The next webinar will take place on Tuesday 28 February.
