Dr Daniel Duda, president of the Trans-European Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, will receive the Charles Elliott Weniger Award for Excellence on 14 February 2026 at Loma Linda University Church in recognition of his contribution to the Adventist Church and its mission. The ceremony begins at 16:30 local time in California, USA, which corresponds to 00.30 GMT, 01.30 CET and 02.30 EET on 15 February in Europe.
Founded in 1974, the Charles E. Weniger Society was created to preserve the legacy of Charles Elliot Weniger, who served as a professor at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary in Washington, DC, and later at Andrews University. Widely respected for his teaching and compelling public speaking, Weniger influenced many students who would go on to serve the Church around the world. A decade after his passing, three of his friends established the Society to reflect the standard of excellence and integrity that characterised his life and ministry.
Over the past five decades, the Society has presented the Weniger Medallion to 208 individuals whose service has made a meaningful impact within the Seventh-day Adventist Church and in wider society. Pastor Duda joins this distinguished group as a leader whose ministry sought to encourage theological depth, thoughtful engagement and collaborative mission across diverse cultures within the Trans-European Division.
The service will be live-streamed here: https://www.lluc.org/featured-events/2026/2/14/wenigerawards. Further coverage, including photographs and highlights from the event, will be published following the presentation.
