Are we suffering COVID overload? Dr Helgi Jónsson believes we might – and offers advice on how to protect ourselves. “There is a constant flow of information around us, and not all of it is positive,” he states in a helpful video just released by the TED Health Ministries department.

“We feel we have to be informed and we have to follow the discussion, or we might miss out on something,” he says but notes that this could potentially increase symptoms of anxiety.

Among his helpful suggestions is the idea to limit your encounters with COVID-related news, and that particularly you choose to limit it to reliable sources. Instead, “fill your mind with better and more uplifting things,” he says. “Believe me you will get all the information you need, even if you only listen to the news once a day.”

Putting our current situation in a spiritual content, he notes the words of Paul in Philippians 4:8. “Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
