On March 22, a meeting focused on planting new groups and churches brought together 25 participants in Riga, Latvia, as pastors and members explored practical ways to strengthen the mission of the Adventist Church across Latvia. The gathering, held at the Latvian Conference headquarters, included attendees from different regions, congregations and generations.
The day began with a devotional led by Pastor Miks Možeiko, who highlighted both the challenges and joys of mission work using various biblical examples, after which participants shared their backgrounds, motivations and areas of passion for mission service.

The programme included various discussions and practical learning on church planting models, development stages, available resources, spiritual gifts, team building and coaching. Attendees also explored the purpose and role of the church, and had a time of prayer as they brought their various plans and passions before the Lord. Pastor Tālivaldis Vilnis, the Latvian Conference Ministerial Association Secretary, contributed to the discussions, offering experience and encouragement to participants.
As the day drew to a close, the attendees identified several next steps for their mission efforts, including visiting and connecting with new contacts, forming core teams, organising prayer groups, praying for commitment from members while evaluating personal capacity, supporting local congregations in becoming a mother church to a church plant, and seeking spiritual courage for mission work.

The next meeting is scheduled for May 30, focusing on the topic “Core Team”, and will be open to both returning and new participants.
Organisers say the meetings aim to strengthen relationships among those who are passionate about church planting and to equip these individuals for mission through both theoretical and practical training.
