Gwendoline Mallette was born on 28 January 1923, in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.

On 28 January, members of the London Tottenham Lighthouse church family gathered to celebrate a remarkable milestone in the life of their beloved Gwendoline Mallette, who turned 102 years old. It was a joy-filled and happy occasion, made even more special by the warmth of her welcome—her radiant smile and loving embrace bringing happiness to all who visited.

Gwendoline Mallett, born on 28 January 1923, is celebrating her 102th birthday
Gwendoline Mallett, on the occasion of her 100th birthday, with the royal greeting of congratulations from King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Alongside her husband, Errol Mallette, 89, she was in high spirits as she received the church leadership team: Pastor Jude Jeanville, Roger Charles, Janet Joseph, Jean Cader, and Doreen Green-Tyser.

When Gwendoline turned 100, she was honoured to receive a letter from King Charles, a token she sincerely appreciated. Her 101st birthday, however, was marked by a period of ill health. Yet, she made a remarkable recovery with the devoted care of her four sons—particularly Tony (Kelvin) and Steve, a fitness trainer who resides with her. Today, at 102, she remains as sharp as ever, her mind clear, her wit quick, her spirit unwavering, and her hands steady without a tremble.

During the visit, she spoke with heartfelt affection about her love for God and His church. Her gratitude and excitement were evident as she expressed her anticipation of one day experiencing the joy of eternity with her Lord.

The gathering was filled with laughter as she shared cherished memories from years gone by, recalling moments that inspired and entertained those present. With a thankful heart, she praised God for blessing her with a sound mind and the many good years He has granted her.

A dedicated worshipper who joins services online, Gwendoline shared her deep longing to visit the church once more, eager to experience meeting up again with members and friends she holds so dear. She remains active, delighting in her garden and staying mobile with enthusiasm. Even at 102, her love for plants and flowers makes her home a landmark on her street, a testament to her vibrant spirit.

As we celebrate her extraordinary life and the blessing of her presence among us, we continue to lift her in prayer—asking God to sustain her health, strengthen her spirit, and fill her days with joy. Gwendoline remains a shining example of faith, grace, and joy in the Lord, and she eagerly awaits the warmth of spring so she can once again venture outside and embrace the world around her.
