At the 2023 Annual Council of the General Conference (GC) of Seventh-Day Adventist, in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA, Jaipaul Daniel Ebenezer Sundararaj was elected Associate Director of Sabbath School and Personal Ministries.

Sundararaj served as the Personal Ministries and Evangelism Department director of the North England Conference (NEC) since 2022. He also served as a member of the Mission Board of the Trans-European Division (TED).

His focus serving the NEC  has been “discipleship ministry,” the nurturing, equipping, and empowering of individuals for Christian leadership. Previously, Sundararaj has served as a pastor, area ministerial field secretary, and Bible teacher at both secondary and university levels. Sundararaj is currently working on his MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Salford University.

TED Discipleship and Education director Kayle de Waal, who has recently worked closely with Sundararaj on a Christ for Europe initiative in Manchester, England, welcomed his new appointment. “We are so pleased with how the Spirit has worked to call Daniel to the GC and can see why! He’s committed and passionate has good administrative capacity, vision, and a desire to empower our people to reach their friends and communities with the Three Angels’ message. We know that God will uniquely use him for the world field.

Reflecting on his new appointment, Sundararaj commented, “This call to serve as Associate Director for Sabbath & Personal Ministries at the General Conference is humbling. I dedicate myself to serving the Church with humility and diligence.”

While his appointment will be a new and exciting challenge, the Sundararaj family are extremely “grateful to the North England Conference family for allowing us to serve, and they will always be very close to our hearts.”

Sundararaj will assume this role on November 1, 2023: our warm wishes and congratulations on his new appointment.
