The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in Norway raised a record amount for projects in developing countries during the annual ingathering programme. The total raised was 4.24 million Norwegian Krones (just over USD 480,000.00).

This is the second year in the row that a record amount was raised. “What an amazing result!”, said Birgit Philipsen, ADRA Norway general secretary. “It is inspiring to see the commitment that congregations and teachers, students and parents in our schools are showing to our ingathering and Relief Action campaigns.”

ADRA Norway is using a combination of traditional methods, such as door-to-door ingathering, and creative methods, like using Vipps (a Norwegian mobile payment application) to achieve these fantastic results. “In the book Education, Ellen G. White emphasizes that the most important thing we can learn is the joy of giving,” said Philipsen. “The Relief Action campaign gives us the opportunity to experience the joy of helping vulnerable children and young people receive hope and have more choices in life. Many thanks to all who participated and donated to Relief Action 2021”.

“Vipps is very established – and we can hardly imagine what it would be like without this simple way of giving”, said Gry Haugen, ADRA Norway Communication director. “But nothing can replace real meetings between people, which is the opportunity that door-to-door provides,” she added while encouraging people to make plans to support Relief Action 2022.
