Trans-European Division staff may be in lockdown, working from home and radically needing to adjust their routines, but this week they sent out a very strong message that ‘we are still together’, while showing support for the many leaders, pastors, church members and volunteers across Europe, who are doing so much to support others during the coronavirus pandemic.

Following the lead of the GAiN Europe leadership team, thirty staff all recorded a short message to create a social media video under the hashtags, #dearcoronavirus and #GodiswithUs.

TED President Raafat Kamal was impressed with the positive family spirit that meant every single staff member took part, “communicating a spirit of positive resilience and the focus on mission.” Despite the restrictions, he noted, “We are still open for business.”

The video is now available and being shared on YouTube and Facebook.

Staff have been inspired by the GAiN Europe network initiative that has so far seen short video clips directed towards #dearcoronavirs, towards #deargrandparents, and in the latest video to be released this week, a response from people suffering from the virus themselves.

These videos are bringing hope around the world to tens of thousands of people and have spread far beyond the boundaries of Europe.

At a time when churches are closed and many people are forced to stay home, TED staff wanted to express gratitude for what everyone is doing in a very difficult time period. This current video is the third in a weekly series of videos that the TED has created to stay in touch at a time when travel is impossible, and training events, committees, and meetings are cancelled. While much still happens via zoom, skype and phone, these three videos are simply a way to say to you, “Thank you”.

Video week 2: Coronavirus: More words of Hope
