March Diversity Lecture – Good News for Women Leaders and their Countries

11 March 2021 | Binfield, UK [Helen Pearson]  The March Diversity Lecture at Newbold College brought good news for aspiring women leaders. Early in the pandemic, anecdotal media reports suggested that women-leaders were more successful than their male counterparts. These reports were the spur for further research by Newbold’s March Diversity Lecturer, Professor Uma Kambhampati, Head of School in the Economics Department at the University of Reading.

Record ingathering amount for ADRA Norway

3 March 2021 | Mjøndalen, Norway [Tor Tjeransen]   Despite restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Adventist Relief Agency (ADRA) Norway raised a record amount for projects in developing countries during the annual ingathering programme. The total showed the equivalent of USD570,000.00. “We are both surprised and very happy with this result,” says Birgit Philipsen, Country Director for ADRA Norway.

After environmental disasters, God works in nature giving it an infinite capacity to bounce back. Similarly, God can work through leaders who model and encourage a re-imagining of the church in the wake of the pandemic.

Access to quality education is still just a dream for too many children

25 January 2021 | Brussels, Belgium [ADRA Europe]  At ADRA (Adventist Relief Agency), we refuse to accept the prediction that 24 million more children and young people are at risk of dropping-out of school due to disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Even before the pandemic, there were 258 million school age learners without access to education.
