{"id":502,"date":"2014-09-01T09:27:41","date_gmt":"2014-09-01T09:27:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/sitenews\/2014\/09\/01\/connect-to-escape-impacts-central-albania\/"},"modified":"2021-12-10T20:38:22","modified_gmt":"2021-12-10T20:38:22","slug":"connect-to-escape-impacts-central-albania","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/news\/connect-to-escape-impacts-central-albania\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Connect to Escape\u2019 Impacts Central Albania"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"rtejustify\"><span style=\"color: #696969;\"><a href=\"..\/sites\/default\/files\/connect_to_escape_2(3).jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a>11 October 2013 Tirana, Albania [Julian Kastrati &amp; Dea P\u00ebrtafi, <em>ted<\/em>NEWS]<\/span> There was great anticipation in Albania leading up to the weekend of 4-6 October 2013 as many people looked forward to the follow-up of the \u2018Connect to Escape\u2019 series, featuring Dr. Miroslav Pujic, Trans-European Division Ministry to Postmoderns Director and the leader of LIFEconnect (LC) Social Media Evangelism. Following its hugely successful <a href=\"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/sitenews\/2014\/09\/01\/lifeconnect-stream-brings-hope-to-many-in-albania\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">launch back in March 2013<\/a> the LC STREAM event had 130 people attend its reprise. Pastors and church members from Central Albania (Tirana, Durr\u00ebs and Elbasan) invited their unchurched friends, who outnumbered church members in the packed auditorium at Hotel Tirana International.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\">Under the theme \u2018Connect to Escape\u2019, the three evenings covered the following topics: \u201cWhen the world is collapsing, what to do?\u2019 (Faith), \u2018How to escape corruption\u2019 (Integrity) and \u2018Being wrong isn\u2019t that bad\u2019 (Choices).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\">\u201cI was very impressed by the practicality and usefulness of the topics,\u201d said Denisa Sinanaj, a Psychology major from Elbasan. For the third evening\u2019s presentation, she said, \u201cI\u2019ll always remember the five steps I have to take in order to recover from a wrong choice.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\">Aldo Dervishi, a Sociology student from Elbasan was particularly appreciative of the exercises to exhibit integrity, thus discouraging corruption. \u201cIf only all people practised these principles\u2026the world we live in would drastically change. \u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\"><a href=\"..\/sites\/default\/files\/connect_to_escape_2(2).jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 640px; height: 139px;\" src=\"..\/sites\/default\/files\/connect_to_escape_2%282%29.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a>Reminiscing on the weekend event, Linda \u00c7epani Gjika, a professor at Tirana University\u2019s Faculty of Economics, felt that \u201cthere was a blessing in the programme for everyone, irrespective of their age and walk of life. All felt free to share their experiences and all benefited from the Bible-based principles, so eloquently presented by Dr Pujic.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\">Pastor Sergio N. Borges added, \u201cNeedless to say, Dr Pujic\u2019s presentations and his didactic approach were greatly appreciated by the audience; moreover, we have been blessed through these series to extend our network of evangelistic contacts.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\"><a href=\"..\/sites\/default\/files\/connect_to_escape(4)m.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-right\" style=\"width: 180px; height: 135px;\" src=\"..\/sites\/default\/files\/connect_to_escape%284%29m.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"right\" \/><\/a>\u201cOnce again we give praise to the Lord for the successful follow-up of the \u2018Connect to Escape\u2019 series,\u201d shared a very enthusiastic Pastor Julian Kastrati, who was largely responsible for the event. \u201cSeeing all of our churches benefit directly from the large number of visitors is indeed encouraging and overwhelming. This programme\u2019s appeal has reached beyond Albania\u2019s borders. Just to illustrate: it was particularly moving to receive a message from Qashif Imeri, who reported that thirty-four Albanians in diaspora convened in one room in Offenbach, Germany, praying for the blessings of the Tirana event.\u201d \u201cWe have been doubly blessed this year with \u2018Connect to Escape\u2019 and the good news is: there\u2019s yet more to come!\u201d said Dea P\u00ebrtafi, a committed LIFEconnect Albania activist, referring to the upcoming 6-8 December meetings in the same venue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\"><a href=\"..\/sites\/default\/files\/connect_to_escape(6).jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-left\" style=\"width: 180px; height: 134px;\" src=\"..\/sites\/default\/files\/connect_to_escape%286%29.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"left\" \/><\/a>Asked for his comments, Pastor Leo N. Espa\u00f1a, President of the Albanian Mission, said, \u201cWe are very grateful to our God because once again the event proved to be successful! People who attended the \u2018Connect to Escape\u2019 series were welcomed in a friendly and cozy environment, where they had the opportunity to make new friends, share personal experiences and learn about God\u2019s word and His plan of salvation. People of all ages had a delightful time in fellowship.
