{"id":4679,"date":"2020-03-10T08:53:54","date_gmt":"2020-03-10T08:53:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/sitenews\/2020\/03\/10\/recommendations-regarding-covid-19-coronavirus\/"},"modified":"2020-03-10T08:53:54","modified_gmt":"2020-03-10T08:53:54","slug":"recommendations-regarding-covid-19-coronavirus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/news\/recommendations-regarding-covid-19-coronavirus\/","title":{"rendered":"Recommendations regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>How is the infection spread?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-4675\" style=\"margin: 5px 30px 30px 5px; float: left;\" src=\"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/sitenews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/images_news-2020_drop_of_water.jpg\" alt=\"drop of water\" width=\"38\" height=\"38\" \/><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Droplets containing the virus are spread from the mouth of infected individuals. when they cough, sneeze or talk.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Droplets travel approximately 1 m from the infected person and can enter someone standing close by, or contaminate any nearby surface they come in contact with.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to respond<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">INDIVIDUALS<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-4676\" style=\"margin: 5px 35px 240px 5px; float: left;\" src=\"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/sitenews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/images_news-2020_hands.jpg\" alt=\"hands\" width=\"39\" height=\"39\" \/><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Frequently wash your hands with soap during the day.<\/li>\n<li>The soap needs to foam and be applied thoroughly for about 30 sec before rinsing with water. Don\u2019t forget thumbs, wrists and between fingers.\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Use hand sanitisers where soap washing is not possible. They should contain at least 60% alcohol.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Avoid touching your face.<\/li>\n<li>Keep a social distance of at least 1 m from other people especially if they are displaying symptoms.<\/li>\n<li>Consider alternative greetings to handshakes or hugs, perhaps a warm smile and a compassionate \u201chello\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>If you cough or sneeze, do so in your flexed elbow or paper tissue that you discard in a closed bin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">CHURCHES<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-4677\" style=\"margin: 5px 30px 180px 5px; float: left;\" src=\"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/sitenews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/images_news-2020_pulpit.png\" alt=\"pulpit\" width=\"41\" height=\"40\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep hand sanitisers in obvious places, and urge people to use them:\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li>In toilets<\/li>\n<li>By hymnals and bibles<\/li>\n<li>By piano<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Sanitise surfaces regularly with &gt;60% alcohol\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li>Door handles<\/li>\n<li>Rails<\/li>\n<li>Table surfaces, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Potlucks and Communion (difficult to maintain good hygiene)\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li>Evaluate how important it is<\/li>\n<li>Have someone serve others.
