{"id":25655,"date":"2026-04-16T13:13:12","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T13:13:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/news\/?p=25655"},"modified":"2026-04-16T13:13:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T13:13:12","slug":"onevoice27-expands-as-church-leaders-call-for-bold-united-mission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/news\/onevoice27-expands-as-church-leaders-call-for-bold-united-mission\/","title":{"rendered":"OneVoice27 Expands as Church Leaders Call for Bold, United Mission"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>15 April 2026 | Silver Spring, USA [Hannah Drewieck, <em>Adventist Review<\/em>]<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/adventist.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Seventh-day Adventist<\/a> regional leaders attending Spring Meeting on April 15, 2026, heard an expanded presentation on <a href=\"https:\/\/onevoice27.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>OneVoice27<\/em><\/a>, a worldwide evangelism initiative designed to bring together media outreach, local churches, and members in a global effort to share the gospel in September 2027.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOneVoice27 is not a new name that you give for the same things that you&#8217;re already doing. Because if you just give the name to do exactly what you are doing, this is not a movement. That is just maintenance,\u201d said Erton K\u00f6hler, president of the General Conference (GC). \u201cOneVoice27 is a call to think outside of the box, to think of something we didn&#8217;t do before, to mobilise the church, to be more aggressive in the mission of the church. The key to every missionary, evangelistic, soul-winning success is prayer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Canals called the global church to unite in a 40-day prayer initiative from July 23 to August 31, 2027. The initiative is designed to prepare members spiritually ahead of the September outreach by fostering revival, deeper consecration, and a collective focus on mission. The sharing resource will centre on Daniel and Revelation and will include the full biblical text, explanatory commentary, visual illustrations, and QR codes linking to additional content. The book is currently in development, with English copies expected in October 2026 and translations to follow, making it accessible for global distribution.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside this, Merlin Burt, director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/whiteestate.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ellen G White Estate<\/a>, encouraged members to read <a href=\"https:\/\/text.egwwritings.org\/book\/b130\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Desire of Ages<\/em><\/a> as part of their spiritual preparation. Plans are underway to release a special edition titled Jesus: <em>The Desire of Ages<\/em>, featuring updated language, Scripture references, and a six-month daily reading plan. These preparation materials are intended to help members deepen their relationship with Christ as they prepare to share Him with others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOneVoice27 needs to be in our DNA,\u201d said Audrey Andersson, GC vice president, emphasising that departments across the General Conference are working to integrate the initiative into their ministries\u2014from Children and Family to Education, Stewardship, and Youth\u2014so that members of all ages can take part in the mission.<\/p>\n<h2>\u201cAll Things New: Hope Starts Here\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>While <em>OneVoice27<\/em> serves as the name of the internal initiative, Alyssa Truman, GC Communication director, emphasised that it will not be the message shared publicly. Instead, church leaders introduced a global theme intended to resonate across cultures, belief systems, and media platforms.<\/p>\n<p>The theme, developed by a working group of departmental leaders, institutional representatives, and communication professionals, is \u201cAll Things New: Hope Starts Here,\u201d drawn from Revelation 21:5. It is God\u2019s promise to His children,\u201d said Truman. \u201cWe want each member to internalise that message for themselves, and as we create content to share, we want to ensure that the world hears that restoration can only come through Jesus Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Resources to equip members and reach seekers<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cThe impact of OneVoice27 will never be accomplished through the institutions of the church,\u201d said Richard Stephenson, GC associate treasurer. \u201cIt will be accomplished through the local church member sharing Jesus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stephenson explained that the General Conference is focusing on two primary objectives: equipping members and reaching seekers.<\/p>\n<p>To support this, several global initiatives are being developed. These include the creation of shareable, member-generated content across digital platforms, supported by a centralised content engine where members can access and contribute resources. The platform uses online and mobile-based Bible studies to engage individuals and connect them with local churches for follow-up and discipleship.<\/p>\n<p>Together, these efforts are designed to make it easier for members to share their faith while ensuring those who respond are connected to local church communities.<\/p>\n<h2>Youth, local churches, and global coordination<\/h2>\n<p>A key component of the initiative is the Global Creators Summit, scheduled for July 20-23, 2026. The event will bring together 10 content creators or influencers from each of the Adventist Church\u2019s global divisions to collaborate, receive training, and begin developing content for <em>OneVoice27<\/em>.
