12 May 2016 | St Albans, UK [ted<\/em>NEWS]  Karen Holford, Trans-European Division Family Ministries director, recently received the first copy of her latest book, ’52 Ways to Parent Happy Children’. A few days later she heard that one of her articles published in Ministry magazine had been given an award by the Associated Church Press in the USA.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>“Both of these were a surprise!” she says. “The book had taken a long time to publish, and I’d never even heard of those Press awards!”<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>’52 Ways’ has been designed as a sharing book. The spiritual content has been kept very low key so that families can give it as a gift to other parents. Each chapter is simple and practical, packed with ideas to help parents and their children experience more happiness in every aspect of their lives. The Crieff Adventist church in Scotland has already purchased 40 copies to give to every parent in their toddler group, and to all the Home Start volunteers in their area.<\/p>\n

“I’m thrilled by the reception the book has received,” Karen says. “I just wish I’d read a book like this when I was a young parent! But I’ll have fun practicing some of these ideas with my grandchildren!”<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Karen’s Ministry article, “A Delightful Day”, was awarded an honourable mention for a long devotional article at the Associated Church Press Award ceremony. The article focused on making the Sabbath a delight. “I’m passionate about making Sabbaths happier for our children. If we want them to become Seventh-day Adventists we need to do a better job of making Sabbaths extra special for them.”<\/p>\n
