On Sunday 30 April, 175 delegates met together in Tampere, Finland, for the Finland Union of Churches (FINUChC) Quadrennial Session. Representing the Trans-European Division (TED)\u00a0 were Daniel Duda (President), Nenad Jepuranovic (Treasurer) and Ian Sweeney (Field Secretary). \u00a0In addition to the statutory issues, the agenda included proposed rule changes, and a report on the work of the church over the last four years. For the duration of this three-day meeting, the following leaders were elected to serve for the next four years:<\/p>\n
President: Pastor Aimo Helminen (re-elected)<\/strong><\/p>\n Executive Secretary: <\/strong>Jani Virolainen (elected)<\/strong><\/p>\n Treasurer: Harri Saarinen (re-elected)<\/strong><\/p>\n On Sunday 11 June delegates met again fro the second part of the session business.<\/p>\n FINUChC had the second part of the union session on Sunday 11 June with the following persons elected to department roles.<\/p>\n Ministerial Association Director: Pastor Kaarina Villa (elected)<\/strong><\/p>\n (Note: We believe that Pastor Villa is only the second woman within the TED to ever be elected to this role).<\/p>\n Personal Evangelism Director: Pastor Atte Helminen (incumbent\/re-elected)<\/strong><\/p>\n Communication Director: Dr Timo Flink (incumbent\/re-elected)<\/strong><\/p>\n Vice Chair of the Executive Committee: Dr Timo Flink (elected)<\/strong><\/p>\n Other positions will be filled by the Executive Committee at later date.<\/p>\n The Finland Union of Churches Conference was first organised in 1909, and most recently reorganised in 2014, with 59 churches.<\/p>\n To read more about the work of the Seventh-day Adventist church in Finland go to: https:\/\/www.adventist.fi\/<\/p>\n The featured image shows Anne Vcrelj (Executive Secretary) at the podium.
