The film has been awarded the Best Feature Documentary by the Boden International Film Festival in Sweden.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-3-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-13760 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-3-1.jpg\" alt=\"Masters of Joy Movie Poster: children playing in the snow\" width=\"445\" height=\"630\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-3-1.jpg 445w, https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-3-1-212x300.jpg 212w, https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-3-1-350x496.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 445px) 100vw, 445px\" \/><\/a>Masters of Joy<\/em> shows the life of five children from different countries and how they understand happiness. Filmed in Nepal, Mexico, Bolivia, the United States, and Iceland,\u00a0the documentary came about within the Happiness project meetings, and the desire to show happiness through the eyes of a\u00a0child, said Lizbeth Elejalde, program director of Hope Channel Inter-America<\/p>\n<p>Elejalde,\u00a0who wrote, directed, and edited\u00a0<em>Masters of Joy<\/em>,\u00a0said she was inspired by the ability that children have to be happy no matter where they are. \u201cI hope this documentary lets viewers see that for children, far from material things, happiness is a state of mind,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The 37-minute documentary project took 10 months to complete,\u00a0including fine-tuning the script, inviting other media centers to be part of the project,\u00a0and choosing each character,\u00a0as well as\u00a0post-production, said Elejalde.\u00a0 Producers included Michael Moyer who filmed in Tennessee, Binod Dahar Kumal who filmed in Nepal, Evelyn Velinova who filmed in Bolivia, Uriel Castellanos who filmed in Chiapas, Mexico, and Griselda Rosales who filmed in Iceland.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s amazing to see how this collaborative work allows you to enrich content that we create, without elevating costs, and allows opportunities for local production teams in different parts of the world,\u201d said Elejalde.<\/p>\n<p>Scheduled to be released on the\u00a0International Day of Happiness (March 20<sup>th<\/sup>) as designated by the United Nations,\u00a0<em>Masters of Joy<\/em>\u00a0had a special premiere in Chiapas, Mexico, on Feb. 19, 2023, during the GAiN Chiapas event. More than 1,500 cheered on Iker, the five-year-old boy from San Juan Chamula, Chiapas,\u00a0who,\u00a0along with his parents,\u00a0were special guests during the viewing of the film.\u00a0Previously, a soft launch of the film was viewed\u00a0in Bucharest during GAiN Europe event in October.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m so excited to see the final product after seeing the idea on paper,\u201d said Adri\u00e1n Dur\u00e9, network projects coordinator and producer at Hope Media Europe.
