{"id":11760,"date":"2022-09-21T09:08:29","date_gmt":"2022-09-21T09:08:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/news\/?p=11760"},"modified":"2022-09-21T11:21:50","modified_gmt":"2022-09-21T11:21:50","slug":"riding-for-jesus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/news\/riding-for-jesus\/","title":{"rendered":"Riding for Jesus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>21 September 2022 | Gospo\u0111inci, Serbia [Vanesa Pizzuto]<\/p>\n<p>When over 300 bikers roared into the Serbian village of Gospo\u0111inci for <em>Motofest 2022 <\/em>&#8211; it was an opportunity for them to not only celebrate their passion, but also to enjoy great food and an opening to learn about Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>The event was organised\u00a0by the Serbian chapter of the<a href=\"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/news\/every-ride-is-a-mission\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Adventist Motorcycle Ministry (AMM)<\/a>, Dejan Lukic, AMM Serbian chapter president, beamed with joy and delight at the attendance. \u201cWe did not expect so many people. It was amazing!\u201d he exclaimed. \u201cWe had over 300 bikers, distributed 400 books\u2026 and welcomed representatives of 46 motorcycle clubs. The Church in Europe has never experienced an event like this before.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed wp-block-embed-youtube is-type-video is-provider-youtube epyt-figure\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"><div class=\"epyt-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\"  id=\"_ytid_96681\"  width=\"800\" height=\"450\"  data-origwidth=\"800\" data-origheight=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XWLRlPuxBBk?enablejsapi=1&origin=https:\/\/ted.adventist.org&autoplay=0&cc_load_policy=0&cc_lang_pref=&iv_load_policy=1&loop=0&rel=0&fs=1&playsinline=0&autohide=2&theme=dark&color=red&controls=1&\" class=\"__youtube_prefs__  no-lazyload\" title=\"Moto Sabor Gospo\u0111inci 2022\"  allow=\"fullscreen; accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen data-no-lazy=\"1\" data-skipgform_ajax_framebjll=\"\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/div><\/figure>\n<p>While the festival had all the hallmarks of a good two-wheeled event \u2013 a ride through the stunning countryside, great food, music, and even some motorcyclist acrobatics &#8211; it was more than just that because the organisers created it as an opportunity to serve the community and naturally share their faith. \u201cEverything was free: the food, the books, the health checks, people were in awe! We invited four pastors, and gave them the opportunity to preach during the event. They talked about the second coming of Jesus, and how he want to take care of body, mind and soul,\u201d shared Lukic.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_11763\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11763\" style=\"width: 630px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/1663104939131-FEST-630.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11763 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/1663104939131-FEST-630.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"355\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/1663104939131-FEST-630.jpg 630w, https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/1663104939131-FEST-630-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ted.adventist.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/1663104939131-FEST-630-350x197.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 630px) 100vw, 630px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-11763\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">MotoFest was held in Gospo\u0111inci, Serbia, 2-4 September 2022 [Photos: courtesy of Dejan Lukic]<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe did not serve alcohol and played Christian music,\u201d Lukic continued. \u201cAdditionally, 50 ultrasound examinations were performed by health professionals, and we had a booth to donate blood.\u201d \u00a0By the end of the event \u201ceverybody wanted to take home our T-shirts with AMM logo. The influence of AMM is growing. Now everybody knows us and talks about us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dreaming about the future of AMM Serbia, Lukic shared some plans, \u201cWe talked to our friends from the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) to borrow their mobile healthcare vehicle. We are going to take this truck to the events we attend, to continue offering free health checks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI cannot wait to see what God will do.
